Rooikopjes Beagles

Beagles have been around since the Roman times and are very outgoing, steady and affectionate dogs. The breed name is probably derived from the French word “begueule” meaning gape throat, and refers to a tonguing (type of barking) made by a pack on the hunt. They have been used in packs, alone, and in pairs, for hunting hare, pheasant and quail and also served as an excellent narcotics detection dogs (often seen at airports around the world). As pets, they require plenty of space, social contact and physical activity. All our dogs are KUSA registered with the main pedigrees as Willowbrook and Kingscourt. Puppies are available from time to time and are sold to responsible owners at a minimum age of 6 to 8 weeks.
